Which Apps Would You Mashup and Why

snailsaugratinTwitter is a faster, simpler multi-person communication platform than what’s built into most tools. I’d pick it any day. Utterz and Jott make mobile communication easier. Flickr is my favorite photo hosting platform. I like WordPress for blogging full posts, but like Tumblr for short, quick posts (one of my favorite uses of Tumblr is Andrew Baron’s Dembot).

Not even social media, but in any flavor you want, if you could mash up any applications today to build some kind of system that does exactly what you want, what would the components be and why?

Maybe structure the answer like:

(purpose of your platform)
App – why I’d use it.
App – why I’d use it.

I’d love to hear your take on this. This is one of those posts where all the action is in the comments.

    Brogan-san,

See this is why I follow your blog rather regularly.
You ask very helpful, teasing questions. Heres my two cents.

APP – Why I’d Use It

E-COMIC BOOK – What can I say? I’m a very big comic book nerd at heart. Lately I have been very frustrated with the lack of options available to read, or interact with comic books and their writers.

Purpose of platform: increase the synergy between blog posts I read and blog posts I’d like to create from those inspiring posts.

App – Google Reader to keep caught up on the latest feeds (of course)
App – WordPress to manage my blog
App – Microsoft Word to write my blog posts

There’s probably something that does this already, isn’t there?

Oy,, would someone please design an interface, and then smash together photoshop, illustrator, in/Design, and a web design module, so I can do publishing, art, webdesign, photoediting all in one file type and one program. That’d be nice.

Same goes for connectivity, I want to link my google notebook, to delicious, to g/cal, and RTM,, that way a note can have a date it pops up, and a spot on RTM, while linking to a tagged bookmark, and only ever exist as a single entry, rather than a million points of info that aren’t tied together. Arrrgh!!!

Some projects aren’t dates, and some dates are just things to do, they don’t all need to be 1 or the other!

    Chris:
I’d mashup Amazon and Wikipedia. Sometimes I look for a classic movie or a book of an underground author but I ain’t got enough information to buy the item. What about people writing that information and being paid for it?. The more people writing the more
buyers interested in the products. Let the crowd do the contents and pay them for every entry.
The name? Is it AmazonPedia too obvious?

Please point me towards this if it already exists:

An app that allows me to create online playlists directly from my offline music so that me and my friends can listen to my music at the same time and chat about it.
