Why Video Tells Stories

I found this via Will Video for Food. It’s a guy talking into a mic for his son. It’s called World Wide Des. And then the son goes and puts animation to the audio, and we’ve got something. Brilliant. Video will tell stories we can’t reach with our ears.

    Very reminiscent of Creature Comforts by Nick Parks.

    In Creature Comforts, the voice performers are unscripted and unrehearsed. The Des series sounds similar.

    I think that’s what is attracting so many people to these films — they sound “real” — unscripted, unrehearsed, authentic.

    I think the ultimate model for this style of storytelling is Ira Glass of This American Life.
