Now, there’s no real brilliance in my voting. I just picked photos that fit my description of what “really” goes on at Christmas. There are many more pictures in the comments.

    I don't know how you were able to choose from such wonderful photos. My favorite didn't make the cut, but they were really all winners when it come to telling the story of family, love, and joy at Christmas time.

    Love these and have spent nearly an hour looking all of the others. Christmas is my favourite time of year so I'll be bookmarking this and revisiting them next Christmas.

    The photo of soldiers really caught my attention. They still manage to smile in spite the dangers.

    That top image of the dog should be used by the RSPCA in a set of photos:

    1) Child gets dog for christmas
    2) Child opens next present and is already bored of dog (the photo above)
    3) Dog outside with rubbish and empty boxes the next day….

    A dog is for life, not for xmas!

    Would make a pretty impressive advert.
