When I go to Las Vegas, I try my best to get time for a drink with Suzanne Vara. She’s someone who straddles the traditional advertising world and the new media. Suzanne is all energy. Her mind works a thousand times faster than she can ever hope to express through her words, both written and voiced. But none of that is why I think she’s top notch.
Suzanne is a community maker.
Want to see her in action? Any site that uses the Disqus commenting system gives you a view into Suzanne’s comments. She’s out there, tirelessly reading, processing, and reacting to other people’s material. She adds value.
Oh, and she writes really thoughtful blog posts.
You can follow her on Twitter and find out that she’s a Jets fan the levels of which might even rival Gary Vaynerchuk. And you’ll see that she’s a conversationalist, as well. There’s a lot there.
One last thing. What I like most about talking with Suzanne is that she talks about others ceaselessly in the best sense. We talked about lots of friends we have in common, and a lot of the up and coming stars like Marjorie Clayman. It’s refreshing to hear someone have so many good things to share about others.
Connect to this Suzanne, but also, make sure you take time to point out the Suzanne Varas in your world, too. There are people giving you tireless contact and interaction and value that you’re not making into the stars they should be. I know, because I could devote an entire blog to the great people I meet along the way, but instead, I’ll do my best to praise you when I can.
Thanks, Suzanne. I enjoyed our chat.
