Am I reading this right? You have stats for teens (18 and under) and adults (65 and above). What about everyone from 19-64? It seems like you re missing a HUGE chunk of people there.

Besides that it all sounds right and is very interesting. Good work!

Style over substance – this is why information design gets so little corporate traction, or fails to ignite the enterprise.

Wow, those are some incredible numbers! I’m shocked that Apple is responsible for 99.4% of app downloads, even though they only have about 5% more market share than Android.

Another insightful post, thanks Chris, i wonder where i would be able to find similar for a European or UK Info/Demographic on mobile/cell phone use. The I-phone app download figures are astonishing, with the amount of Android platform based phones hitting the market i would have thought android apps would have overtaken apple by now,,,,hmmmm

The Apple’s dominance number seems quite suspicious…. The total numbers of android and iphone are roughly the same, so this means an average iphone user downloads 100 times more apps than an average android user. 2 apps for each android means 200 apps on an average iphone?

It is so amazing for me that the app store downloads still completely dominate the app market. Its really telling when you compare the pie graph of apple’s share of the market, to the 99% of app downloads it commands.

I would bet that a majority of Twitter users, if not Facebook as well, access through their phones at some point and that has to be more than 23% of users.
