Feed Kids with Share Our Strength

food drive Share Our Strength has launched a brand new campaign to raise funds to help end childhood hunger. “Operation No Kid Hungry” responds to President-elect Obama’s call to action to end childhood hunger by 2015.

Share Our Strength has partnered with AT&T to offer two great ways that you can support and participate in “Operation No Kid Hungry”:

1.Donate by text: Text “SHARE” to 20222 on your mobile device to donate $5. AT&T will match all text donations up to $100,000. Help us meet this challenge grant! Find out more here

2.Hold a food drive: Beginning January 19th, a national day of community service, help feed those in need by holding your own community food drive. Visit http://Strength.org to find a food bank and a list of the most needed nutritious foods.

For more information about “Operation No Kid Hungry” and how you can help end childhood hunger, visit Share Our Strength’s website:http://strength.org.

I’ll text for food to feed hungry children, blog for food for feed hungry children, and retweet for food
    http://beth.typepad.com/beths_blog/2009/01/ill-text-for-fo.html

Heck, I’ll even organize a canned food drive and toss some extra food in those boxes at the supermarket on my way out.

These are expensive, time consuming activities – a little bit goes a long way

Thanks for posting this Chris. I just did a text donation and will go back to Twitter to retweet. Truthfully, as a very infrequent “texter” it felt good to use my phone for this cause. @LynnMcFarlane

If I had understood that you were going to do your own picks, I wouldn’t have thrown myself wholeheartedly into the 12for12k Challenge. I’ll still do all I can, though. The local Albertson’s grocery store is making bags of food for the food bank available for purchase. I think I’ll do that and encourage others to join me.

It’s rather shocking to see how easy it actually is to affect change on a very large level. Thanks for spreading the word, because this community of ours is very powerful, and always willing to take a few minutes or a few dollars and put them in the hands of those in need.

    Hi Chris,
On a similar note, I’m part of a non-profit called ‘Hope and Health for Rwanda’ (http://hahfr.org). The goal of the organization is to raise money and then ship medical supplies to needy medical clinics in Rwanda. I’m hoping that some members of your community would visit http://hahfr.org. I hope that I have not over stepped my bounds with this request. Keep up the good work.
    Thanks and All the best,
    Patrick Kusior
