Read it Where You Want

reading Want to get [chrisbrogan.com] sent to your favorite reader of choice? Why swing by the site when you can have it sent to the place where you start your reading day? Hey, don’t get me wrong. If you want to drop in and check out the actual web page itself, I always love visitors, and if you’re here via the front page, check out the nifty MyBlogLog widget in the corner. I love that, because it gives me a sense of who’s dropped by lately. Nice to see people I know there, and fun to find new folks.

But, if you want to speed up your ability to consume blogs, and then find more ways to consume them when you have a moment, give some of these alternatives a view. You might find that having more than one way to get at someone’s content isn’t a bad thing, either. With the iPhone (shhh, @NickSaber), I find that my Google Reader habits have changed a bit. Do you read blogs at the desk *and* mobile?

Here are some ways to get my blog sent to you automatically.

Lots of folks still seem to like getting their blog reading sent to their inbox, newsletter style. We can do that:

Enter your email address:

Delivered by FeedBurner

Are you a Yahoo person?

How about Bloglines?

Subscribe in Bloglines

I myself prefer Google Reader:

Add to Google Reader or Homepage

Or you can put it pretty much anywhere using this:

 Subscribe in a reader

Finally, if you just don’t really like using RSS directly, use something clean and simple like Alltop. I’m down there on the bottom right.

That’s the cool thing about blogs. You can get them sent to you the way you want them, and read them at your leisure. Cool, eh?

Who are you reading lately that’s cool? Should I be subscribed?

ChrisBrogan.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

Thesis WordPress theme

Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like ChrisBrogan.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

  • I just did a new post on letting your readers subscribe via text messages.

    http://www.steven-sanders.com/make-your-blog-mo...

I think this is a great option for alot of readers that might not have internet capable phones.
  • I also use Google Reader, Chris, but I don't read my RSS subscriptions in GR. I use Feedly for that. Feedly is an add-on for Firefox browsers, that is synchronized with GR: http://www.feedly.com

Three of my favorite social media bloggers these days are:

    Jacob Morgan: http://www.jmorganmarketing.com
    Marc Meyer: http://emersondirect.wordpress.com
    Laurel Papworth: http://silkcharm.blogspot.com
  • i am confined to my blackberry during the work day when it comes to checking certain sites like twitter, since the company won't allow certain networking sites. it makes the experience really frustrating because my feed is rich with links that aren't optimized for mobile viewing. that makes Google Reader an asset to me, since i consume so much more information through it. i also think the set-up is pretty nifty, very well organized.

admittedly, you garner a lot of "favorites" stars, as does Jason Falls. i also learn a heck of a lot from:

  • @Rebeca- Don't ever tell Jason or I who wins. : )
  • Chris - who is that a picture of?

Don't tell me that's you from back in the day... !

    See ya soon man!
  • I read you in my LJ Friends List after having syndicated your feed there under "chrisbrogan."
  • I have found www.globalmotors.net quit interesting.

It is not just automotive news, but they take lot of pics of futurre test cars around Nürburgring, scandinavia and southern europe.
  • Sorry - late to contribute this one, but Mike Elgan posted a good tip on using the Kindle as a feed reader. http://www.thebookofkindle.com/2007/12/amazon-k...
It is my mobile (and bed time) reader of choice.
