Why Pirates are Necessary

June 27, 2008

Superstar pirate chronicler Matt Mason has released a video bit to go with his nifty book. Check it out here.

If you’ve yet to read it, I strongly recommend picking up The Pirate’s Dilemma. Thank goodness for Whitney Hoffman, else I wouldn’t have read this book. She’s a great book recommender.

I don’t have a url of my own, I borrow my sites.

I love this perspective. Even the most “obvious” point that “piracy is wrong” doesn’t always work out that way.

Just jumped on my Kindle and bought the book.

I’ve gotten so I really find your posts interesting. They bring a perspective that just doesn’t mimic everything else that is written by others.

This is hilarious. I think though we all have our own thoughts that we all “pirate” in a way. We piggy back off of others and by doing so we get great opinions and conversations going all over the internet.

An interesting perspective. I guess I will have to read the book now.

Thanks for the post.

Nice video Chris, thanks so much for sharing this. It’s so strange, because I “just” finished watching Lawrence Lessig’s TED talk about the same topic.

If you haven’t watched this you should: http://lessig.org/blog/2007/11/my_ted_talk_is_up.html

Cheers buddy.

I thought you meant real pirates, with the eye patches. We need those too. Just thought we shouldn’t leave that out.
